There is a story that resides behind the brick represented in this website. It is found at the site of the original Rosenblatt Stadium.
Rosenblatt Stadium was the original home to the College World Series (CWS) since 1950. However, it was demolished and remodeled after the TD Ameritrade Park was established as the new CWS venue starting in 2011.
Corey and Melissa at Rosenblatt Stadium Memorial in Omaha, Nebraska
The Rosenblatt Memorial is located adjacent to the Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium, which took over the property after several financial contributions, including Warren Buffet.
From Omaha.com:
“Bricks from the entrance of Rosenblatt Stadium line the new concourse of the shrunken field, and the structure, with the iconic peaked roof above the old grandstand, is painted the same shade of blue as the old stadium. The Rosenblatt arch that sat on top of the stadium’s scoreboard marks the new attraction.
Red, yellow and blue seats are lined up outside the baselines in another nod to the stadium. The yellow foul poles still stand at the edge of the new parking lot to give people a sense of how big the field was.”
The brick says “Jean & Corey, Sec P Row 8 13/14, Hook ‘Em Horns.” Corey’s love for his mother, baseball, and the Texas Longhorns are represented here for as long as these bricks stay standing. The section and seats where Corey spent many years watching baseball are engraved on that brick. The brick holds incredible meaning and represents Jean Jackson’s spirit overlooking Corey’s proposal to Melissa in 2015.
Oh, and of course, Melissa said, “Yes.”
And as the story continued…they officially became
Mr. & Mrs. Jackson in June 2016.
